Journalist links Mike Hoffman to the Las Vegas Golden Knights

I am not at all a believer. All of you are entitled to your beliefs, but I am not. On the other hand, if Kent Hughes manages to find a drinker for Mike Hoffman and as a bonus he gets something drinkable in return, maybe I’ll consider that there’s a higher force than my little person who likes the Montreal Canadian.

In addition, I always give a little more credibility to the information that affects the CH when it does not come from Montreal and that is the way it is today with this story. It was Vegas Hockey Now journalist Owen Krepps who made the connection between Hoffman and the Golden Knights. According to him, if Kelly McCrimmon can be released from Laurent Brossoit’s contract, the Golden Knights organization could find itself looking for a forward who can provide a touch of offensive support to the team’s bigwigs.

For him, the fact that the Kitchener striker isn’t just a rental would also be a plus in the equation. Whenever he hires a man to fix a problem, he doesn’t necessarily want him gone a few weeks later. Plus, Mike Hoffman wouldn’t be a complete stranger to Las Vegas as he would meet his former Ottawa Senators teammate Mark Stone there.

Since I arrived in Montreal, Mike Hoffman has made me conjure up every church word I know… multiple times! So if he has any market value and Kent Hughes finds a way to achieve the impossible, he’ll clean up my language and for that alone, it would be a good idea to make it happen.

As a reminder, Mike Hoffman is paid $4.5 million per year and is under contract for another season. This year he has 5 goals and 3 assists in 16 games, one point more than Josh Anderson in two fewer games.

So did I really just bragging about Mike Hoffman on Josh Anderson’s back?

It looks like it is!

Going back to Krepps, he also mentions other names to cover the attacking needs of the Knights. Among the six names raised, in addition to Hoffman, we find Bo Horvat, Max Domi, Gustav Nyquist, Jesse Puljujarvi and Kasperi Kapanen. But really, the best solution by far for Las Vegas would be Mike Hoffman. And I’m absolutely not saying that to try to convince Kelly McCrimmon. Come on, that wouldn’t be my style at all!

Joking aside, Bo Horvat aside, we’re talking about guys here who are big question marks. Since the Canucks captain will be a free agent at the end of the season, he would actually be a rental player, which could limit the Knights’ interest in him. But it’s worth what it’s worth…

A lot of

– Samuel Montembeault was the surprise of Bob Hartley during his segment this afternoon on BPM Sports.

– Evgeni Malkin was also surprised and without taking anything away from Sam Montembeault, this one was more #Lindo!

– Lane Hutson continues to dominate in the NCAA.

– What a gesture worthy of a great leader.

– Will the current edition of the Devils sneak into this list?
